Treasures in Eternity

Don’t store up treasures here on earth, where moths eat them and rust destroys them, and where thieves break in and steal. Store your treasures in heaven, where moths and rust cannot destroy, and thieves do not break in and steal. Wherever your treasure is, there the desires of your heart will also be. (Matthew 6:19-21 NLT) Wherever your treasure is... There are things we define as a 'treasure' in our lives doesn't always deserve as much attention as we are giving it. We focus way too much energy, give lots more time than needed, and even come to honor that thing more than we do our relationship with God and others. Most of the time, treasures are those things that we come to value more than we do God. To that end, we are reminded that the only thing that deserves that much of our attention is God himself. Glitz and Glimmer

Don’t hoard treasure down here where it gets eaten by moths and corroded by rust or—worse!—stolen by burglars. Stockpile treasure in heaven, where it’s safe from moth and rust and burglars. It’s obvious, isn’t it? The place where your treasure is, is the place you will most want to be, and end up being. (Matthew 6:19-21) It is always good to look at where we put or find our treasures, isn't it? Some are facing great loss due to fires, floods, and inclement weather of all sorts, and it is possible 'all' will be lost as a result of the terrible devastation they face. I put the word 'all' in quotes today because there are many who have put all their hope in the 'treasures' they have amassed right here on this earth and quite possibly have missed out on the greatest treasure of all. I shall not make light of the great loss so many have experienced in terms of homes, vehicles, family, and friends - their loss is tragic and beyond words. It gives all of us an opp...
