A place and a time

It does not rejoice about injustice but rejoices whenever the truth wins out. Love never gives up, never loses faith, is always hopeful, and endures through every circumstance. (I Corinthians 13:6-7 NLT)

Many years ago, Abraham Lincoln said, "My dream is of a place and a time where America will once again be seen as the last best hope of earth." Truth must win out in order for America to really be great again. Truthful individuals must lead. Individuals who have put their hope and faith in Jesus Christ and him alone. If we are to be a nation of hope, we must first be a nation of loving, loyal, faithful followers of Jesus. 

Followers of Jesus don't turn a blind eye to injustices all around them. They stand up for the oppressed and fight the warfare that moves heaven and earth - spiritual warfare. We see many who are willing to rise up against the injustices they observe in a physical sense, but are there men and women who follow Jesus rising up in spiritual warfare against these injustices? The 'fight' might not be 'natural' as much as it is supernatural!

Truth will only win when loving individuals, fully committed to the truth Jesus brings into their lives, take their stand on their knees! Hope returns when heavenly forces begin to move. Love is the basis of all spiritual warfare. After all, Christ came because of the intensity of love God has for each of us - he made a way for us to be 'made right' through his sacrificial death on the cross. He made a way for us to rule and reign over spiritual forces of wickedness by his resurrection from the dead.

Yes, we can engage in peaceful protests. Yes, we can elect godly men and women to serve in our governmental offices. But...we must 'back' our physical efforts with the spiritual efforts of prayer, spiritual warfare, and sharing of the truth. Love never loses faith - it believes even when all that erupts around it is in chaos and disarray. Love is what brings a believer to their knees and holds them there until the battle is won. There is no hope without love. There is no peace without love.

A place and a time - it begins on our knees. Just sayin!
