Now all glory to God, who is able, through his mighty power at work within us, to accomplish infinitely more than we might ask or think. Glory to him in the church and in Christ Jesus through all generations forever and ever! Amen. (Ephesians 3:20-21 NLT)
God is able to accomplish INFINITELY more than we ask - more than we think. Meditate on those two things for a bit today - mulling them over and over until those two very important truths meld into the framework of your thoughts and begin to influence your prayers. When we finally believe NOTHING we ask for is too big for God, we begin to ask for more than we ever thought possible!
The might power at work within us - those words should begin to challenge our disbelief a little. There is a power at work within us - nothing short of divine - that creates both the right attitude and strength to face whatever challenges stand in our way. We begin to walk 'taller' in a spiritual sense once we lay hold of that truth and really begin to believe there is a power WITHIN that outlasts, outweighs, and outdoes all other powers at work AGAINST us.
Do you realize what God is doing IN you in order to accomplish all that you experience AROUND you in life? Not likely! You just know he is there, working, doing what only he can do. That assurance actually makes you let loose of the reins a bit and allow him to take control. Little by little, day by day, you come to rely upon that strength more than you realize. It is as though you lean in a bit more without even knowing you are doing it. Why? You find strength in letting go.
God's work within us isn't always HUGE. It is frequently just the tiniest of things he does throughout our day that actually add up to something big by the end of that day. We trust him with a little and he makes a lot out of it! We cannot underestimate the strength that comes from trusting him even just the tiniest bit. That strength builds with each step we take toward trusting him with every detail of our lives. He isn't going to 'control' us like a marionette puppeteer. He is just going to go about doing what only he can do within us, allowing us to realize his goodness little by little as he does.
The "INFINITE" of God's goodness is never insufficient for our need. We need to know his love and grace NEVER run out. His work within us is NEVER too difficult or too much for him. He is able - not just partially able - but INFINITELY able to do all things in us and through us. Sometimes we just need to allow our hearts and minds time to catch up to what he is doing! Just sayin!
