Empty Pantry?

People who don’t know God and the way he works fuss over these things, but you know both God and how he works. Steep your life in God-reality, God-initiative, God-provisions. Don’t worry about missing out. You’ll find all your everyday human concerns will be met. (Matthew 6:32-33 MSG)

Are you fussing over small stuff that really doesn't change the course of anything in your life, but complicates it more because of how much of your mind's attention it demands? If you are, you may want to consider if all that energy you are expending on those things really impacts your life in a positive manner, or does it multiply your sense of being overwhelmed, exhausted, and in emotional unrest. If that is the case, it could be time to stop fussing and start trusting!

People who DO NOT know God fuss over those things - we should not. God prepares well in advance of our need specifically what will meet that need. We don't need to fuss that things may not go as planned or be different than what we expected. We just need to bring our normal everyday lives to him, lay them before him, allow him to establish the plan for our day, and then go into that day with the faith that he has it in his hands. Easier said than done? Maybe for some, but the more you seek him first, putting him first in your life, the easier it becomes.

God prepares your steps, but you take them. You can take them in faith or fear. The choice is yours. The provision of his oversight, protection, and wisdom is there, but we have to avail ourselves of it. If you have a pantry full of food but go to the cabinet with the empty dishes in it all the time, you might come to the conclusion there is nothing to fill your belly in all of the house. If you constantly go toward finding your own solution to the day's needs, you might just begin to worry that there is not enough strength or capacity to meet that day's needs.

God isn't about to withhold his goodness in your life - put him first in all things, keeping your eyes on him and not the circumstances, and you might just begin to see the 'pantry' is indeed full to overflowing! The issue isn't in the provision - it is in where we are looking for it! Just sayin!
