His LOVE is life

What do the words, "Your love is life to me," mean to you when you hear them? They are the words of a song I frequently sing at church, but I wonder if we really pay attention to the words we sing. Indulge me for a moment while I share just some of those words with you this morning: Your love is life to me My truest longing my deepest need Without it one moment I don't know where I'd be Your love is life to me Breath for my body, light for my eyes All that I need you daily provide Deep in my being, more than my blood My very existence depends on your love Your love is life to me - - - did you stop for a moment to 'think upon' just how much God's love has provided in your life? When someone is the thing you believe fulfills your deepest needs, you don't want to be separated from the person for even one moment, do you? Your whole life rotates around that person! Without God's love, where would you be today? I know my 'story' would be much dif...

me, Me, ME

Help, Lord! For God-like men are here no more. The faithful can no longer be seen among the sons of men. They lie to each other. Their lips speak with sweet-sounding words that are not true. May the Lord cut off all lips of false respect, and the tongue that speaks of great things. They say, “We can win with our tongues. Our lips are our own. It seems like there is lots of 'lip speaking' and 'sweet-sounding words', but how much of what is said will actually prove to be true? There is either 'truth', 'lies', or 'something in between' in these election speeches, right? Never forget that lies are often masked with just enough truth to make them believable! It is time to test character - what has the person shown as his or her values - not in word, but in deed? What ac...

Follow the Pattern

What you heard from me, keep as the pattern of sound teaching, with faith and love in Christ Jesus. Guard the good deposit that was entrusted to you—guard it with the help of the Holy Spirit who lives in us.  (2 Timothy 1:13-14) May I ask what you 'keep safe' or 'guard' in your life? If you are a parent, it is likely you may have answered that your primary focus is to keep your little ones safe, harboring them against all harm as much as possible. If you are the owner of a company, you may say you are working hard to keep 'safe' that investment you made into that business and all the employees you have working within it. If you just got a brand new car, you might just admit to parking further away from the front door of the store because you want your car to be 'safe' from scratches and dings for as long as possible. We 'guard' or 'keep safe' a lot of different things in our lives, huh? Some are significant others, while others are things...
